The Govt. of Karnataka has leased 30,000 Ha. of forest land to MPM for raising captive pulpwood plantations and net plantation area available atpresent is about

22,500 hectares.


The Forest Wing has carried out extensive forest research works with high quality layouts of forestry trials with scientific assessments and interpretations on par

with Inter National standards.


The Forest Research division has screened a number of genera, species and progenies over a period and identified high yielding clones of Acacia hybrid,

 Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Eucalyptus pellita and Eucalyptus urophylla and scientifically managing the pulpwood plantations with best silvicultural practices.


The clonal plantations are unique in India, the silvicultural skill and superior genetic material has benefited MPM and also other forest based industries in the Country.


The high quality seeds/clonal plants of Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Acacia auriculiformis, Acacia mangium, Eucalyptus pellita and Acacia hybrid available are being sold

and are in great demand from forest based industries, Forest institutions and farmers and forest departments all over the country.


MPM is getting more than 2,00,000 MT of debarked, uniform, even aged, high quality pulpwood from its captive forestry and meeting over 90% of its pulpwood 



The balance quantity of pulpwood is being procured from the Government sources like KFD, KFDC, KSFIC, also from local farmers and private suppliers.


Under Farm Forestry programme, the company is selling more than 10 lakh seedlings of high yielding varieties to the local farmers and institutions at low

price every year.
